Rex was found in a cage in the back of a field and had no food or water for at least 5 days.I have determined in his short life he has had a few owners that didn't offer much socialization to him, but he is very bright and is learning well. Because of his size (100 pounds), I would not recommend a home with small children. He is a very loving dog toward all people, but not so much dogs. He is housebroken and crate trained. His leash manners need work, but he generally is good. He sleeps with me. This seems to be the highlight of his day. Because he was not given heartworm protection and was housed outside in a cage, he is in the beginning stages of heartworms. He is on Ivermectin twice a month and will be for a year and a half. This treatment is effective and does not endanger the dog. He needs a chance to be with a loving family that will give him a forever home.
