About Tucker

Adoption Fee: $50
Lab / German Shepherd
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Tucker is about 7 years old, Chocolate Lab and German Shepherd mix (or maybe some kind of Hound). He is an incredibly sweet boy, great with young kids. He is a big part of any family, always wanting to be with you, will lay on your lap and loves to be hugged and cuddled. When left home alone, he will chew up food related items or things to get to food such as containers but not kitten cabinets, as well as other odds and ends he finds entertaining to chew up, but has not chewed furniture or actual parts of the house. Tucker has a lot of energy and loves to run at the park and go for walks. But he is also content to relax and do nothing. Tucker loves to go in the car and is an excellent passenger. He waits nicely and quite while he is left in the car. He will even want to just sit in the car while it's parked in the driveway or garage. He has made a lot of progress on his leash walking since we got him, but still needs to be handled by an adult. It seems that Tucker needs to be in a home where people are home most of the day. I have been taking him in the car to work with me and he spends the day in the car. I travel through the day so am in and out of the car with him. As it gets hot again, that will not be a good solution. Tucker is also a very jealous boy and would probably be happier as the only dog. We have been having marking issues in the house as he was intact for his first 7 years of life, and we already have 2 male dogs. He displays significant jealousy behaviors in other typical ways as well. If you think you might be interested in meeting Tucker or know someone who could be interested, please let me know. We are heartbroken but truly believe a different family who is home more (we both work full time) with no other dogs (don't know about cats, but would guess he might chase them) would be a better place for sweet Tucker.
