PUPDATE ON AUBREY PRESTON (TIANA) FROM INLAND VALLEY RESCUED BY Fluffs & Scruffs, A Dog Rescue ON 11/1/17 Here is a beautiful piece about Aubrey written by her wonderful Foster Momma Michelle Rhyner. 'Of the many fosters I have had, Aubrey came to me in the most frail and shut down condition I have encountered. I was extremely worried for her and she displayed signs to me that she really hadn't been shown love either ever or for a very long time. She flinched when I would go to touch her, tail constantly between her legs, hid in the kitchen and didn't really seem to understand what companionship was. Over the matter of a few days, Aubrey began to decompress and start understanding that being around a human wasn't a bad thing. Not only was she in a frail mental state, it was clear she had been neglected a LONG time with the fact she was way underweight, soiled in urine, matted and dirty. Aubrey has thrived in the weeks I have had her, the sadness in her eyes has become brightness. I didn't treat Aubrey like a fragile soul however just showed her love. Aubrey has now gone on beach days, socialized with dogs of all sizes, been around small kids ages 3-6, been on many car rides, goes on short walks and has become a little bit of a beggar lol. She needs someone who understands her need for patience yet gets her out of her shell. Aubrey is still growing to trust so may not necessarily be a lap dog quite yet however she loves to be around people and will follow you around all day. She is slightly sensitive with her back legs but if picked up properly will give you a kiss. Her physical state has also improved as she is closer to a normal weight (gained 2.5 pounds), fur is soft/clean, rotten teeth removed, hernia repaired, able to walk a decent distance, ear infection clear and no eye drainage. She is the farthest thing from aggressive and just yearns to be around her human. She would do great with someone who is lower key as she does love her dog naps. I would love her to be with someone who can show her how precious she is. I did forget to mention one very important thing most likely because it is not even close to a hindrance for her but Aubrey is deaf. She has exquisite other senses in terms of her sight, smell, taste and touch. I seem to forget she is deaf because it has not been an issue at all in terms of her overall demeanor or personality'.
