About Louis MacPhail

Let me introduce myself. I am Louis Macphail a 2 1/2 year old Standard Doxi Lhasa mix and I weigh 21 1/4 pounds; I am low to the ground- but can leap a Baby gate with ease. I am not a digger- but then I never had a reason to dig or escape a fenced yard. If left alone- I may want to go on an adventure- who knows. I have lived happily with other dogs of all breeds and sizes, but I do like to be the boss. My best friend is a little pit mix and we love dragging each other around by the collar. Because I really like a good tussle and tumble- l could hurt a little dog- but I wouldn't mean to. So smaller dogs probably wouldn't be the best fit for me. I have never lived with cats; I've watched them from the porch across the street- and they do perk my ears and interest and theylook like a lot of fun to chase. I probably wouldn't like one of those things to live with. I am a happy dog with good potty manners as long as we sync our schedules. I am crate trained- but much prefer to be on the couch or on my very own bed. I love walks and car rides and running my little heart heart out. My yard should be free of fox tails and burs because those things stick to my fur and in my toes like bees on honey. I love to go to the beauty parlor; My toes should be trimmed short; even tho they look like fuzzy slippers when not trimmed up- you may not notice my nails need attention. I do not mind a weekly brushing- I actually encourage it, because if you don'e comb me then- I get all matted and I hate that! So give me 10 or 15 minutes a week and comb me! Because of unforeseen circumstances my family wanted the very best for me- which is why I am in a loving foster home. But I sure would like a new home for the holidays. My guardian is very particular about where I will take my throne and rule my kingdom. So be prepared, she has a lot of requisites you need to meet. Please tell me about your family, other pets, property and yard as well as your activities and how long Louis will be alone each day. Be prepared to send a picture of your immediate back yard, living room and a selfie, the city you live, email address and contact number. Louis Macphail is neutered, up to date on all shots and vaccines, and microchipped. His diet is Diamond chicken and sweet potato, but he is not finicky. If I find you are the perfect family for Louis- be prepared to pick him up within 72 hours in Grants Pass. If upon meeting we mutually determine it is not a good fit-and you are not from the area, take some time and enjoy the spirit of the Holidays in our town.
