About Zoe

Look at this sweet little lady Zoe, a whole 7 lbs of her, well under the care of the foster mum she is gaining weight. This sweet 4 year old Maltese mix we believe came to us pure skin & bones, scary thin. Your whole hand fit around her tiny frail frame. We were asked to take Zoe into our rescue from a kill shelter in CA, & we know why this little lady was a shelter favorite. We were told that she had a uti or possibly bladder stones but our vet quickly realized after 2 x-rays & medication that this sweet little lady has nerve damage down near her tail & second vertebrae. Our vet also discovered that she only has a nub for a tail. We do not know if man did this to Zoe or she was born this way? It was also discovered that she has slight symptoms of a luxated patella on her right side but is showing no signs of it. Zoe is a 4 year old female, 7 lbs, up to date on her shots, chipped, spayed, just had a dental & is heart worm negative. This little lady will need a very kind, dedicated special home as she is incontinent & needs to wear a nappy or belly band due to having no control over her bodily functions because of the nerve damage. That being said she runs around & plays with the other dogs & cats & loves people & is being fostered with a family with teenagers who she also adores. Please only apply for Zoe if you are committed to being her forever home with her incontinent issues & not just because you see a very adorable little angel. Zoe is a life long commitment. She must go to a home with other dogs present in the home & with people present in the home. This little lady is full of so much love & joy & was a picky eater when she first joined our rescue but the foster mum has certainly turned that around. Zoe is such a special little lady! Please do not apply just because you see a precious little girl, she truly needs someone who will be fully committed to her and her needs. Zoe has an adoption fee of $575. __________________________ **IMPORTANT DETAILS - PLEASE READ** An application must be filled out before consideration for adoption. Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to commit a lifetime to him/her. We are an all-volunteer 501c3 non-profit group of animal lovers. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to pay our current medical bills for our dogs as well as any future dogs we rescue as well. As an adopter, you must be prepared to accept the fact that these dogs are rescues and, just like you and I, they all have their own individual personalities. In most cases, these little ones have been through a difficult journey that started when their family gave them up or they became lost. They may have been under stress, neglected or even abused in their past life or frightened by being left alone on the streets to fend for themselves. Our number one focus is finding these little loves a wonderful forever home with a family who is going to care for them and show them what it is like to be loved, a safe environment, a full belly and a warm bed. These sweet babies do not ask for much from you but they may require a little patience and understanding. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS.
