About Edmi

Frisky little Edmi so very much wants to be everybody's friend. A Rattie mix just 2 years old, he is naturally curious, alert, and friendly, but a lack of proper socialization in his 'old life,' makes it hard for him to overcome residual anxiety about new people, places, and experiences. Fortunately he gets along great with other dogs and follows their lead, gaining confidence with each new encounter. When he musters enough courage to let you pet him, he does seem to enjoy it quite a bit, so it's undoubtedly only a matter of time before he gets over his skittishness. Edmi likes to sleep in a nice safe crate at night and rides comfortably in a crate in the car. He does not have the hang of walking on leash yet, but fortunately he weighs only 15 lbs. and does not object to being picked up and carried around. Despite being nervous, Edmi was a very good boy at the vet and was docile and uncomplaining even when being poked and prodded. He also met some little kitties there and treated them with polite friendliness. He will sometimes pick up a toy and play with it tentatively as though he really isn't sure how. His overall house manners are very good and he has never messed with or gotten into anything he shouldn't. With a regular indoor-outdoor routine, he is showing good house-training skills. All in all, this sweet boy just needs an understanding family to help him continue learning and growing in confidence.
