About Maggie

Maggie is a 2-year-old great dane mix looking for an experienced large breed owner. She needs someone who is at home full-time and can work with her for about 5-6 hours a day on training. She has done wonderful so far, but on the days that training can not be met, she falls behind quickly. Maggie can not have kids around her due to her being unpredictable. Yes, she passed her assessment but if a child has a ball or toy she becomes weary and looks uncomfortable. Maggie also has some potty issues inside the house, but not all the time. Currently, I do have to separate her. I believe because I separate her is the reason she uses the bathroom in the house. I think she will stop this in no time. This past week though, she has done great! Maggie has become overly attached to me, and when dogs or even people are around she will show her teeth at them. When my fianc̩ is with her though, she does great with people and some dogs. I recommend her to be an only dog or maybe 1 other dog in the home. She does well with one of my dogs, but I have 5 and she does not like the rest. She does well with cats, but will try to play and chase them.Has to be a non reactive cat! Maggie is treat motivated and loves working! She has come along way since the first day I met her. She walks great on a leash, will sit to put leash on and off, and sits and waits for her food. She knows sit, lay down, paw, and wait. She loves going outside to roll around and play soccer with her ball. It will be required to have a min. 6ft fence because she can jump something smaller. Depending on the situation, she may be required to go to training, so she can be worked with when meeting new people and dogs. Her background has been rough, and she does have a hard time at first trusting new people. Her adoption fee is $300. Required vet reference, personal reference, must be on heartworm and flea preventative.LOCAL adopters only. There will be an adoption application with a written contract.
