About Joey

Joey, AKA Joey Nugget is an adorable, 18 month old 'Pithuahua', (Pit/Chihuahua mix). Joey had a very rough start to life & spent his first year of life in an abusive situation, he can be initially nervous around strangers, but soon warms up. We believe that Joey may have also also been abused by children and as a result of this, he cannot be rehomed where there are any children. We are looking for a special home that has time to invest in him and continue his training. He is extremely affectionate and a total Velcro pup & loves nothing more to cuddle up on the sofa (or under the duvet!). He is also quite vocal and loves to talk to you! He is absolutely bursting with personality and is a complete goof ball & will keep you entertained for hours! Joey's world revolves around playing with his foster sister & his toys! He absolutely loves his toys & stuffed Kongs! He also loves going for car rides & long walks and would make a great running or walking partner. Joey loves to run and is high energy so would do better in a home with a fenced yard that can meet his energy needs. Joey has lived with both small and large dogs and a bossy cat! He would do better with either one female dog or another submissive dog, as he can get over stimulated with too many dogs. Joey has made huge progress over the last 6 months and has been working with a trainer to teach him basic obedience & manners. He is a typical puppy and can be boisterous and rambunctious at times! He is so much fun to be around but he will continue to require discipline, direction and boundaries. Joey has kidney disease, which is currently well managed on a prescription diet; he does not require any medications. He is house trained but may have some initial 'accidents' until he has an established routine. He is crate trained and is used to being left at home for 4 hours per day. He also loves to sleep in his crate at night, but given the chance, prefers to cuddle up in bed with his family! He is the perfect size, weighing, 41lbs and 17' in height at the shoulders. Despite his abusive past, Joey is a happy go lucky puppy that just loves life! We are looking for a special home that will cherish Joey as much as we do & provide him with the stability, love and security that he needs. He is beyond adorable and is guaranteed to steal your heart! Joey is Neutered, current on all vaccinations, Heartworm Negative, Micro chipped and current on Monthly prevention.
