About Joey

This is Joey! He is about 1.5 years old, microchipped, neutered, and up to date on all of his vaccines, including rabies. He is a purebred red heeler (Australian Cattle Dog). 100% house broken. Would prefer a home where... -there are a lot of squeaky toys -he is the only dog -there are no cats -there are no small children -he can spend a lot of time with his person Needs work on... -socialization with strangers -socialization with other dogs He would be an awesome companion for someone who wants a buddy that will cuddle, play with you, go on walks and hikes, and steal your clothes to snuggle with when you're not home. However, he needs to go to a home with no cats, and you need to be able to work on socializing him. Right now he is not good with strangers, he barks and growls but is not aggressive. He will take a while to warm up to new people, but once he does he'd make an awesome dog. The only reason he is not doing well here is because he and the older dog do not get along. We hoped they'd grow accustomed to each other as he aged, but they have not and he only seems to annoy her more. He's a sweet boy with a good heart, but he needs help to flourish.
