About Jabba

Jabba (Jabba the hut). I have had him for 3 years and he is not taking you my daughter any longer as she gets older. He is very sweet and loving to older kids and adults but my daughter is overwhelming him. My mother in law was watching my 4 year old daughter and my daughter tried to give my dog a hug and he went to bite her, which ended in my daughter having a small scratch on her face, luckily nothing else. He had to go through a bite quarantine and I am now having to keep him locked in a room all day until i can find him a new home. I don't feel that is fair to him. We originally rescued him as an adult and i don't know his back story. He had horrible demodectic mange but now he looks great. He is a 5 year male neutered basset hound/pit bull mix. He is ok with submissive dogs but would challenge dominant dogs. He is ok with my cat as well. He is current on all vaccines, on proheart (6 month heartworm prevention shot)�%A0 and Bravecto for fleas. He had a dental cleaning a few months ago and is overall a very healthy dog. He's on a daily joint supplement as a preventative for joint problems later on because he has the short, crooked, Bassett hound legs. He would be a great dog for an older family as either an only dog or with another submissive dog. I hate to have to try and find him a new home but I'm afraid he's going to hurt my daughter further.
