About Frankie and Jackie

2017 hasn't been a great year for brothers Jackie and Frankie. After losing both of their human parents they were dumped in a high kill shelter. They spent several days there waiting to see if someone would adopt them as a pair because they're brothers ...and they only had each other now. Several days later they were transferred to rescue. When they arrived they were terrified...so much so that Jackie fled transport and stayed on the run for 2 weeks. Finally, after an exhaustive search and what seemed like the world watching them, we were able to trap him on someone's porch. It ended a 10 day long stretch of no sightings at all. Frankie and Jackie are now safe in a foster home. They've decompressed and fallen into the routine of the other pups. They're part of a family but they so deserve their very own family. 2017 may not have started off well...but we're hoping it will end well for them in a new home. What you need to know about the boys: We think they are 8-9 years old. They have lived with seniors and would probably really enjoy the company of seniors (or established adults). They do not seem to mind the company of a cat - ignoring them, actually. They get along with other dogs. They have been brothers for years and we want them to be adopted together. Jackie is a pug mix - we're not sure with what breed but he has long legs like a super model. Frankie is probably a poodle/shih tzu. He will require occasional grooming. They are housebroken and well behaved. Both boys are very friendly. They do enjoy sleeping in bed with their person. And do know....they LOVE skittles. Now we have not been known to feed candy to pups at the rescue ...but we were told that they love them and we were able to trap Jackie when he was on the run with skittles! We would love for the boys to have a fenced yard for safety reasons with Jackie. Both boys are vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested, microchipped, neutered and on preventatives for flea/tick/heartworm. Their adoption fee is $600.
