About Olive

Adoption Fee: $75
Maine Coon / Domestic Cat
Age: Senior
Sex: Female

Olive is a beautiful, and loving, senior, seven-pound, female four-paw-declawed Maine Coon-mix cat looking for a loving guardian. Olive is a gorgeous girl who is an easy companion. She prefers to be the one and only pet in your life. She loves snuggling in your bed, on your lap and in your arms. She gives gentle kisses and likes to climb up high and look out windows. She'll even bat a toy around! She would love to go to a loving home where she can be doted on and enjoyed. We are looking for a special cat-lover who has no other pets and knows how to give subcutaneous fluids, or is willing to learn because she is in the early stages of kidney insufficiency. Found sitting in a cat carrier in a Wilmette alley, we don't know Olive's backstory. She was found during the heavy rains a couple months ago, and the carrier was filled with not only rain water but her urine. I can't even imagine the torment she went through. She was given a couple baths, full bloodwork, and a virus-test. Her kidney values are not great, so she is eating a dry prescription kidney diet and receiving daily subcutaneous fluids, which she tolerates beautifully. I can't seem to find a canned food she enjoys. She seems happy and healthy now, so she's not quite a hospice candidate, but she'll benefit from continued fluids and special food. She is perfect with her litter box and just loves to spend time with her people. Her adoption fee of $75 benefits rescued pets and includes a generous supply of fluids and prescription food. To meet and possibly adopt this special girl, please contact [email protected] She is currently living in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood.
