About River

River just completed his basic obedience training at Applejacks in Charlotte Hall, Md. He is an aussie border collie mix and is between 1 and 2 years of age and 43 lbs. He is crate trained, house trained and up to date on all his shots and neutered. He is also negative for heartworm and on preventative for that and fleas and ticks. He has not been around kids younger than 10 so would need to meet any young children before being approved for a home with them. He also has not been cat tested but the rescue is recommending a home without cats for him since we are unsure what his reaction would be. River needs a family that will not only give him a loving home but will continue his training. He would love to pursue agility, other dog sports or herding. He is a high Energy boy who needs a job. He can jump very high so a 6' fence is highly recommend. River would do best in a home with older children since he is high energy and could knock over a younger toddler. River is super friendly just has a lot of puppy in him. Loves chew toys, balls and bones are his favorite especially filled with peanut butter. He will jump up on you in his excitement, but he knows all his commands, he will just need someone who will continue his training.
