I recently adopted/rescued Lance after seeing his living conditions and desperately wanted to help him. His previous owner would only let him go for 450$. When I got him he came with no paperwork but owner claimed he was up to date on shots but after inquiring about records he had nothing to give me. The poor pup was filthy, covered in fleas, and his coat was ruined from never being groomed or even his collar taken off. He had been left outside for days at a time, chained up, without any contact or love.He was under weight and very skidish and had plenty of signs of abuse, I had to get him out of the situation. From what the previous owner told me, he's a pure breed and has had obedience training, he said he got along great with other dogs and cats and great with kids. This was not the case. I've put so much time into getting him healthy again and he has come along way. From the beginning he has never been aggressive and is very sweet. But he has attacked my cat multiple times maybe out of fear I'm not sure, he was never trained to walk on a leash and I've been working on that with him. He knows how to sit, shake, lie down, but gets very distracted when outside and sometimes doesn't listen at all. I also think someone may have busted one of his canine teeth because one is totally out of his mouth. I've tried to gain his confidence back with lots of love and assurance that he's in a good home but he has very bad separation anxiety and does not do well being left alone even for less than an hour. He goes crazy, crating him only makes his anxiety worse and I'm afraid he's going to hurt himself. He needs someone that can be with him all the time. I don't leave him alone for more than 2hours but he was just so badly neglected before that I don't know what to do and he's such a sweet boy he doesn't deserve to end up at a shelter. I really want to find him a good home, after paying 450$ for him alone on top of medical bills and getting his shots up to date and getting rid of the fleas I've spent about 800$ and can't continue to take more time off of work to be with him. He's a very good dog very loving and forgiving even after all he's been through.
