About Wally

Adoption Fee: $200
Australian Cattle Dog / Beagle
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Wally needs a family with a fenced in back yard, maybe another dog and humans that are often active with their furry kids. Wally is bored. He has been bounced around from home to home unable to find his place in this world. He is fine for a few weeks in a house but then after the newness wears off and the family stops paying him as much attention as they did when they first brought him home, Wally gets bored and ends up doing what cattle dogs do; finding something to keep himself feeling important. Wally is not a bad dog. He is a very misunderstood dog. He lived at our trainer's house for 2 weeks and the trainer said 'this is a great dog!' Wally needs someone who understands dogs. He is not for a first time dog owner or a dog owner who has never had a herding or Terrier breed before. Wally is house trained, good with kids and other dogs. However, in a group or pack of dogs, he has been known to try to herd them which sometimes does not go over too well. Due to his breed, we do not recommend cats. Although because he is so eager to learn and please, we do believe he can be trained to leave a cat(s) alone. But someone would need to be dedicated to properly training him. We are requiring a homeowner with a fenced yard for Wally and the commitment to do something with him other than take a few walks a day. He needs something to do like hiking, biking, running or agility. This is not because he is a high energy dog. This is because his brain needs something to do, and he needs to feel he serves a purpose. age: 3 years adoption fee: $200
