Upon arrival, Scout was found in the middle of the yard, in a more guarded position. When she did try to come over to the metal fence, the volunteer noticed she had a sore right paw. She was unable to fully weight bear on this paw, but clearly attempted to greet her. She was wagging her tail, as she was trying to make her way to the fence. Scout is a medium sized, Red and White Nose Staffie mix. She is underweight from being severely neglected. She also appears to be under a year old and once she trusts you, she is incredibly affectionate, engaging and more submissive than her brother. This may be due to the fact that her paw is clearly causing her pain. They were both taken to the vet where they received all of their vaccinations, and she was spayed. We do not know how long they have been alone in this backyard and thankfully they were found by some good samaritans. They will be boarded with us until we can find their forever home or even a foster home. They can be adopted individually or as a bonded pair.
