About Echo

Adoption Fee: $400
Lab mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Echo is a mild-mannered, cautious 2-yr old male yellow lab mix weighing approximately 60 lbs. Echo is an incredibly gentle boy, but spent a lot of his young life fending for himself in the woods. Dumped at a Navy retirement community along with another dog Dom, he took refuge in a huge piece of land behind it. Two ladies there started feeding them, and within a few weeks they were trained to follow a golf cart and trotted alongside the fence to a feeding spot. %BD%A0But they alluded capture for months. %BD%A0Finally, %BD%A0after a long awaited rescue, Echo was treated for heartworms, neutered, and is in desperate need of a home willing to be very patient with him and earn his trust. %BD%A0Echo has been receiving training from expert dog handlers who train VA service dogs, so he is coming along nicely, but will need a patient foster who won't need to demand to much of him right away until he feels secure. Echo is calm around kids, gets along fine with male/female dogs of all sizes, but his temperament around cats is not known. *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*
