About Marcus

This is Marcus! He is a mini lab almost a year old male weighting at 35 pounds! Marcus is a wonderful dog. He is absolutely stunning in person, gorgeous canine sparkling teeth and super soft ears. He is all about loving people, loving and definitely affectionate! He is totally people oriented. He wants to be wherever you are. He has learned to sit on cue and is getting much better at 'come'. While he is active he is not overly wild at all, just fun to be around. He enjoys playing with other dogs and even good around older dogs and understands his place. Marcus has no sense of personal space when it comes to us humans always wanting to get right in your lap! We are working on having him lay next to you. Marcus does good around children; has been around a 14 month old and other than the general clumsiness that hardwood floors and active puppy brings he does well. Marcus is good in the house and shows no interest in digging out or escaping a fenced yard. Marcus will chew on toys left out, so be careful to put stuff away. He is not fond of the crate, but which dog is? He doesn't fight getting into one, but will not go in just on cue, so positive reinforcement and tossing treats t the back helps. He does howl when he sees us leave so a stay-at-home or work-from-home family member would be best for Marcus. Marcus is house broken and hasn't had any accidents. He is a good little rider in a vehicle, but loves to ride shotgun! He does get excited when he first meets people and he will talk to you! Not sure on cats. He has now been fully vetted; neutered, up-to-date on all vaccines, but unfortunately did test positive for heart worms so we will be treating yet another dog. The good news is the vet said he is very healthy and has no bad clinical signs.
