UPDATE! Amy is completely vetted.. spayed, utd on ALL vaccines, microchipped, and we sadly had to amputate her tail.. but she is healing beautifully. Stitches are set to come out after Christmas.. possibly first week of January depending how good she continues to heal. Prayers are ALWAYS welcomed. She is aprox. 3 years of age, will be completely vetted this coming week (spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and will have her tail which has a few sores on it evaluated.... we are hoping we are able to treat without amputation so prayers are welcomed)... She FINALLY came to us about a month ago now.. and when I say FINALLY.... I mean after almost 2 years! Her family bred her (three times that I know of) in the time I have been involved in this girls life... they were doing spot/spot breeding and producing deaf/blind puppies but in their eyes there was still money to be made as her babies were BEAUTIFUL and aside from the issues at hand they knew they could make money off of them... a sad reality we face too often with backyard breeders. She was kept in a make shift side yard filled with whatever scraps and plywood they could find which in their eyes provided the shelter she needed, as well as her puppies. We helped each litter with the 'unadoptables' or the 'left over' puppies because they didn't want anything to do with the after care.. if they weren't making them money they were of no use there. EVERY puppy we took in was FULL of a parasite Giardia that as it would prove to NEVER fail would take two full treatments to clear EVERY litter EVERY time... This came from drinking dirty water..sadly they couldn't even provide something as basic as clean water. We begged everytime to let us take mom, and EVERYTIME it was the same response... NO. They promised to spay her. They NEVER did.... but in the end she FINALLY made her way to us... after years of praying and hanging on to hope her family FINALLY gave her up. She is a BEAUTIFUL soul.. eager yet scared to love. we believe she was taunted by the young boys in the home, so we are looking for a family with NO SMALL CHILDREN. Although she has been GREAT with my daughters.. the presence of my boys give her anxiety. She is GREAT with women, yet a bit fearful of men. (she loves my husband and can love anothers husband as well if given time and love and patience) She needs a home where she can finally be at peace, where she can be loved and simply love in return. she NEEDS her forever after.... so please if you think you can offer our beautiful girl the life she deserves please please email us. she is worth taking a chance on, and worth your love!
