About Charming

Charming is a sweet rust colored red nosed pit bull that came to BRAWA back on September 26th, he was in a terrible state. He had been found in a cow field in real bad shape where he had been placed to die or be eaten by vultures. He looked like he had been used as a fighting bait dog. His wounds were massive. He had a gaping head wound approx. 4 x 6 inches that exposed his skull and was infested with maggots. He had a large hole in the center of his forehead, his left eye was very infected, he had hundreds of bite punctures all over his legs, face and neck, his ears had been cut off completely and his shoulders and left back leg had previously been injured and healed back leaving him with horrible pain. And through all this he was so thankful for our help, you could just see it in his smile. See, Charming LOVES people and . . . cheese. He is not fond of cats and although he has a few female dog friends here at the shelter he doesn't do well with male dogs. The past 2 months we have been treating Charming and he is clear now of infection, his major head wound is healed, his bites are all closed and he has finally put on some much needed weight as he was very emaciated. Charming has won all of our hearts, but now it is time for him to get that 2nd Chance at a real home and to be loved and cared for. He can not be in a home with other pets and he can not be left alone with children just for safety of not knowing his whole story of where he came from and what he has been through. And the rescue or permanent place he goes to must understand completely the breed. We do not want him to go back into our community where we believe he came from. Please help us find a good place where he can get the love, support and care he needs. I have tried so many already to just be turned down because of space or simply willingness to work with him.
