Ms. Joplin had quite a rough adventure from being a stray in southern Texas to a becoming a well-loved foster in the Project Hope community. She is a large girl, around 3 years old, and possibly a German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix. Joplin is current on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed. No matter the circumstance, Joplin has surprised us at every turn. She is active, has a positive attitude, and is super fun to be around. She investigates everything with bravery and conviction, which is just a joy to watch. She is quickly regaining her strength and health. She arrived weighing a mere 40 pounds, and she is now 51 and gaining! I'm guessing she will be 60-65 pounds. This fun and spirited warrior is on the road to recovery! Joplin is learning her house manners quickly; is potty trained and crate trained; and enjoys other dogs, people of all kinds, and the cats she has met so far. When she arrived to us, she was very sick and had a limp. We focused on the illness immediately and worked hard to get her well. Once she was feeling better, we went ahead with her spay surgery and had an x-ray done of her hip. The x-ray indicated an old injury to her right hip and her left knee. The injuries have healed over, and there is nothing surgical to be done at this point. We started her on joint supplements immediately, and eventually she may need stronger medications for inflammation as she gets older. If you are ready to love and nurture a new fur-baby, Joplin may just be the dog for you. A fenced yard or Invisible Fence e-fence is required. Children in her new family should be 6 or older. Although she is gentle, she is also very active and may bump little ones. Joplin's adoption fee is $250. Please contact email@example.com for more info on Joplin!
