About Liam-ADOPTION PENDING

Cockapoo
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

When a Farfel's volunteer first met Liam, she was struck first by his cuteness...how could you not be? His curious and very affectionate and loving personality (very typical of a dog with a great temperament) became the entertainment of the day for his rescuer...so funny and cute that you just had to periodically hug him. We're all very glad that Liam can't remember the challenges of his earlier days...wandering in traffic on a busy New Mexico highway in danger of losing his life. Our dedicated New Mexico rescuer didn't have to think twice..she scooped this little guy up and saved his life. It was moments later that she found that Liam has a great temperament...and even in this dire situation, was extremely grateful and sweet. Liam's rescuer brought him home to soothe his fears and determine if he had been hurt during his highway experience. He was in great shape and engaging in his gratitude. From that second forth, Liam has been nothing but a delight to his rescuer and her delighted family. They found that he loves their kids (12 and 17 years old), 2 like-sized dogs and is perfectly fine with their illusive kitty. To their delight, they have found that Liam is completely housetrained, knows a number of commands and is very respectful of their home. They all fell in love with Liam..enjoying him for all his sweetness and love of life. Liam, at just about a year old and 22 lbs (such a perfect age and size...young enough to be an active best friend that is the perfect size to be a hiking partner. And then at day's end, Liam would love nothing more than to be a lap dog or couch companion with his family). Liam is learning so quickly.. and is so happy in his new understanding that the world can be a very positive place. We are searching for the most loving and dedicated home for this exceptional guy. We feel that Liam would be perfect for a home where the family is present...it can be retirees who have the time, energy and enthusiasm for a young pup. Or a family with older, dog-crazy children that choose to include their pet in their daily lives would also be perfect for this very engaged guy. Since Liam is a young and very curious and intelligent guy...he will be a star in positive reinforcement group training classes. They will serve to guide Liam (and his family) to learn the skills for him to be a very bonded adult companion. Obedience level I promotes great behavior and peaceful relationships with humans and dogs. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of force-free trainers in your area. It's also very important that Liam is given mental stimulation and lots of exercise. It's never too early to start teaching leash manners on the incredible trails of Colorado....this will develop Liam into a fit and happy companion. This adorable Cockapoo (Cocker Spaniel/Poodle mix) appears to be a non-shedding guy (although it's difficult to tell for certain until his sad hair grows out into a beautiful new coat). Liam will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition (a salmon oil supplement would be perfect) to keep his stunning coat cottony-soft, very healthy and matt-free. Liam will not be neutered when he arrives in Denver - while we request it, there aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this part of New Mexico. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Liam's neuter and microchip immediately after his arrival in Colorado if our Denver vet is used. Liam will be arriving on transport in Denver on Thursday 12/7/17. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If you're interested in this sweet and cuddly best friend, please fill out and return to [email protected], fax to 303-443-7730 or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302. PLEASE NOTE: If you're truly interested in adopting Liam, please be sure to fill out our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving guy. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit an adoption application. Thanks so much.
