About Luna

Luna is our 7 year old Alaskan Malamute who was born on 11/08/2010. We have had her since 16 weeks. We are in a very difficult position due to her item possession aggression and territorial aggression when at rest laying down in certain spaces. She also loves to howl which has resulted in a few threats of legal action against us by neighbors. She has nipped at my daughter when she was 4 and most recently snapped once at my friends face and gave him 13 stitches. He had been previously warned by her with a snap but he decided to try to kiss her when she was on a couch by herself (one of the territory aggression areas). We have 4 children and 4 adults that live in the house and are unable to be in constant vigilance about making sure she is supervised 100% of the time when kids are around. She has never bitten or snapped in aggressive manner in an attack, only when laying down when space or items were a factor and this happened once with some near misses I the past. She is a very loving dog that lives to have her belly rubbed and take for jogs and walks. She only behaves dangerously in he few situations mentioned. However for our family and close proximity with so many people and other neighborhood kids and friends she is too great a risk for our household. She sits and lays down, is house trained, spayed, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines. She needs someone familiar with Malamute behavior and a more rural setting. She loves sleeping inside in summer and outside in winter;). We are in a position where we have to rehome or euthanize we cannot keep her due to our home enviornment.
