Rodney is an adult male Gulf Coast box turtle (Terrapene carolina major) who entered CMTR's care on 08/22/17. Rodney asked us to share his letter to Santa: Dear Santa: I have been an EXCELLENT boy this year. I battled cancer with quiet stoicism, and I am downright 'handicapable' adjusting well to losing my right front foot due to the mass. Given I have had a rather Charles Dicken's like year, I am adding a few 'big ticket' items. I hope you'll consider my requests (and, I'll have the cookies and milk ready). Merry Christmas Santa (and Mrs. Clause)- Rodney My wish list: 1) A box of Cuban cigars (oops, my foster dad is saying NO) 2) Since #1 is out, an Amazon gift card for some new XBOX games 3) A new hiding spot 4) A humidifier for my abode 5) Some Romaine lettuce in my stocking 6) The complete boxed set of Game of Thrones 7) A new forever family (after all, seven IS a lucky number) A P.S. from our volunteer elves: Rodney will need a family willing to follow up with repeat cancer screenings and willing to stay in contact with original vet who would like to follow Rodney's progress. *Adoptable turtles can only be shipped during the winter months if the weather is stable enough to ensure their welfare. Adoption application available on our web site, www.centralmsturtlerescue.com Please familiarize yourself with any required license/permit necessary to own a reptile in your resident state.
