About Easteren Box Turtle

Inglis is an adult male Eastern box turtle (Terrapene carolina carolina) who entered CMTR's care when his former owner thought Inglis was ill and asked CMTR to take him. He is having an ear abscess treated and once it is resolved, Inglis is ready for a new home. Please review the recommended care guidelines for Eastern box turtles: www.boxturtlefacts.org We would love to find an adopter willing to make a lifetime commitment to Inglis. While we do not charge a formal adoption fee, we do ask adoptive families to cover the costs of shipping for their new family member. Any amount donated over the cost of shipping is used to provide medical care and purchase supplies for our fosters. We are an all-volunteer rescue with no paid employees and we foster the turtles/tortoises in private homes. Adoptable turtles can only be shipped during the winter months if weather conditions are stable enough to ensure the safety of our fosters. In the majority of cases during the winter, adopters MUST be willing to pick up their new family member in Florence, MS (unless alternative arrangements are made with CMTR).
