I am Petunya (my nearest and dearest also call me Mama!), and it is your luckiest day because I am a sweet-as-candy, affectionate pittie princess who is available for adoption through Fetching Tails Foundation! I have been told that I am irresistible and to know me is to love me at first sight; and I couldn't agree more! I am a 5-year-old, 62-pound lady, and without bragging too much, I must admit that I am a gorgeous girlie! At first glance you might think my fur appears black like licorice, but look closer because it is actually a luxurious dark-chocolate color! I also have white splotches on my chest that look like wings (my foster daddy says they are appropriately shaped since I am so angelic!) But I bet what really drew you in were my soulful, expressive eyes, right? I wear my heart on my face and always let you know how much I appreciate you with my sweet gaze. My friends from Fetching Tails Foundation rescued me from Chicago Animal Care & Control, where I was lovingly cared for by the director and staff after my previous owner dumped me there. My foster daddy met me while volunteering with the CRISP program, and couldn't resist my sweet disposition so he offered me a comfy place to stay until I find a forever family. I am really enjoying the spoiled life in my foster home! My favorite activities include curling up with foster daddy for a cuddle and quality petting session, and going for long walkies to experience the big, wide world around me. I am an inquisitive girl, and love to take in all the sights and sounds when we explore a new walking path or place. I get along well with dogs and can be pretty playful when making a new canine friend. I would be content in a home with a playful dog who likes my occasionally silly energy, but since I love to be the center of attention I would also be just fine as your one and only furry friend (What can I say? I am able to adapt easily!) I am friendly and kind with everyone I meet, but I take a little time to really let my hair down and show the full range of my affectionate and silly, fun-loving personality! I can go from playful with a burst of energy back to lazy and cuddly within minutes, and love to make my foster daddy laugh! I am a people pleaser, and nothing makes me happier than seeing my loved ones smile. And can we talk about my excellent manners for a minute, too? I am a humble girl, but I also need to be honest and tell you that I am practically perfect in every way. I am fully potty trained, and don't need to be crated when my foster daddy is at work; I am content to relax in my favorite comfy, cozy dog bed while he is gone. I also know the command sit, and will often sit without prompting in anticipation of my leash being attached when it is time to go for a walkie. Sure, sometimes I might scratch at the door when I am very excited to go outside, but I am very eager to please and responsive to positive reinforcement and corrections. I also don't chew on anything that I am not supposed to; my favorite parlor trick is to bring things like a pillow or shoe to my bed when my foster daddy is home but distracted by some human chore so I can get his attention. I don't chew on it, just bring it to bed and set it next to me to make him laugh when he notices. My foster daddy's only gripe about my manners is that I am a bit of a blanket hog when we are cuddling and napping on the couch together during a lazy weekend movie marathon, but I can't help it if the blanket shifts to cover me when I am snuggling in as close as possible. I just like to be near my humans and enjoy the comfortable life! Can you tell I love life and am a special, loving dream dog?
