Tonka was another Pitt on a chain until he figured out how to break loose. Once he did, all bets were off. For a week he repeatedly came into our fenced in back yard (yes, he is an escape artist) until his owner gave him to me. We have kept him for the last couple of months. He is now neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm preventative (he tested negative). He is potty trained, though I would predict accidents in a new environment. At this time, I would recommend a durable plastic crate to contain him when left home alone. He's as stubborn as they come but will bulldoze his way right into your heart. He loves humans and dogs but he does play rough! He enjoys wrestling, playing with toys and balls, and his favorite is a 'Jolly ball' with which he runs around outside. He would be perfect as an only dog or with an equally hefty and playful youthful companion. He can be snuggly during quiet times but on the go with canine friends. He is a hardy, happy dog with no behavioral concerns (aside from his hard headedness). He would be staying in our home if we did not have a senior dog. Please be willing to provide a vet reference and a home visit.
