My name is Olive, and I am looking for love from a family that appreciates the finer things in life such as affectionate cuddles and fun adventures! I am an 8-month-old lab, and it is your lucky day because I am available for adoption through Fetching Tails Foundation! I have velvety black fur and currently weigh in around 40 pounds, which means I am a great size to climb in your lap and give you a sweet kiss. My personality really shines through my loving eyes, and once I look at you it will be hard not to fall in love with me immediately! My friends from Fetching Tails saved me from a southern Illinois shelter, where I stayed for a month after being found as a stray. I was so happy to make the trip north to my foster home, and am having a total blast with my foster family! I love to make new friends and get along with everyone, human and canine. I would make a great family pet and would love to have a couple little kiddos to grow up with in my forever home. My eyes just light up when I see children, and I think my mission in life is to be loved and pet by everyone I meet. I am sweet and submissive, and would also enjoy having a doggie friend in my forever home so we can play lots of fun games like chase with each other. And I even get along with kitty cats! When I think of my forever home, I would also love for it to include a fenced yard so I can romp and play; once I am all out of energy, I love to curl up on your lap on the couch for some serious cuddles...play hard, cuddle hard, right?! I am a friendly, happy-go-lucky girl, and it makes me smile to brighten up your day! I also have pretty awesome manners for such a young girl. I am potty and crate trained, and do fine while home alone for 4-6 hours while my foster parents are at work. I still have the puppy habit of chewing on things, but I stop as soon as I hear the word no when I have something I shouldn't; I love toys so I hope my forever family will buy me lots that I can chew on instead! I am a smarty pants and it only took me an hour to learn commands including sit, down, and paw! Fetching Tails Foundation requires all adopters of young dogs like me to sign up for training with their new pups, and I have to say I am really looking forward to it! I consider myself a scholar and love to learn, especially when I get a treat reward and make my humans smile after I perform a new trick or command!
