About INDY

INDY 4yr Old Siberian Husky Indy came to us as an owner surrender. His family came upon some hard times and were forced to re-home him for his well-being. Indy has spent a lot of time in a kennel over the last 2.5 years and has a few issues in adjusting to his foster home so far as a result. He's a bit overwhelmed with his new freedom! He is available to an Experienced, Husky-Knowledgeable owner ONLY. He really is a very sweet, happy boy in general, he's just had a rough time recently. He displays some food aggression. Initially he could not be fed in the same room with other dogs, but after a few weeks and some work, he now eats with the others! He will get VERY protective of bones and treats (even from humans) so he must be separated if given these. Aside from that, he gets along well with other dogs his own size. He plays too rough for smaller dogs, but does listen to warning barks from the ones in his foster home and respects them if they tell him to back off. He is very playful, sweet and loving, just has some social issues that will need an experienced owner who understands the breed and is willing to help him get through these hurdles as he adjusts - we have already seen leaps and bounds in his progress. His foster mom is working with him on his issues but he will need continued training in the future, and his new owner must be prepared to do this. He is crate-trained and knows how to use a doggy-door. His Adoption fee is $350, it covers his neuter, shots and microchip.
