About Jewel

Jewel is...you guessed it...a GEM! She's a 2 year old American Bulldog mix who has only love and smiles for everyone she meets. Jewel originally came to ACL as a puppy and was adopted. Sadly, her adopter passed away, and the family couldn't keep her any longer. Jewel is still a puppy in her personality, but she's a well-behaved, housetrained lady in her manners. Jewel is a super wiggly little thing! Even though she loves kids, Jewel does have some trouble with guarding her toys. She'll need an adopter who can help show her that she doesn't need to worry about people taking her stuff away! Because of this, she'll need to go to a home with adults only as she learns new manners. With practice swapping out toys, getting lots of space, and learning that she's safe, Jewel will start being less protective of her playthings. Jewel also needs a little help with confidence, but she opens up quickly with the aid of some patience and consistency. If you want the manners of an adult with the heart of a puppy, Jewel is the jewel for you!
