About Mario

Mario is a 1 year old goofy, playful 60 lb boy who can be a lap dog at times and smother you with kisses. He also likes to test boundaries too, so he would do best with an experienced big dog owner who knows how to be a strong alpha. Mario wants to be the alpha dog of the pack, so he may need to be an only dog, or just be with females. He has not been around small children, but his size and energy level would make it difficult for him to be around younger children. He walks well in a leash once you convey to him that you are in charge. He likes to be outside, but prefers most to be with his person - wherever you are. He doesn't like the cold. He is crate trained and doesn't have accidents in it as long as he is able to got out at least 4 times a day. We are still working on house-trying. Crating helps minimize accidents. He could benefit from wearing a belly belt for house-training, and obedience lessons. He eats 4 cups of dog food each day. Big dogs are EXPENSIVE to keep! EVERYTHING costs more! I have spent more money on his vet expenses than I will get back from his adoption fee. As you know veterinary care is expensive.
