About Corrina

Corrina is a special case. She is a 2-3 yr. old Toy Fox Terrier. She was dropped off at my dog grooming shop about 6wks ago. I have taken her to our veterinarian and he has diagnosed her with PTSD. There is no doubt she has been abused by someone in her past. The lady who dropped her at my shop had only had her for 3 mos. She said they couldn't handle her anymore. She said she got her from a boarding kennel where she had been abandoned. We know nothing before that. She is highly anxious and has some behavioral issues like barking in the car, chewing holes in some fabric, peeing in odd places (she uses pads for the most part). Corrina is also so sweet! She is a very odd dog but she captures your heart almost immediately! She was scared to be touched, especially around her face when she first came. Now...she loves to be petted and to cuddle under blankets as close to a person as she can get! She has been sweet with everyone even kids. We have not seen an ounce of aggression to anyone. She will follow us all over the house. She doesn't like people to leave. She becomes frantic, barking and running around. She breaks my heart! I haven't had her spayed yet but that will be done before she leaves here. I will be looking for an adopter that will have the time and patience to seriously work with her and get her the medical help she may need. The Dr. said there is ways to manage her PTSD to make her life more relaxed. She has already came quite a ways in the almost 7 weeks she has been here. I think she will do best in a quiet household.
