About Steel

Steel is available for foster or adoption. We are a foster-based rescue and always looking for fosters! Steel is currently fostered in Englewood, FL (Sarasota County). Steel is a biddable Australian cattle dog pup who shows promise for dock diving, disc, scent work, barn hunt, agility and obedience. He is 10 months old, about 31 lbs and shouldn't get too much bigger. He is deaf, but has great vision. His foster mom is a trainer and has taught him hand signals for sit, down and walk. He has excellent leash manners, too! He gets along great with other dogs and people of all ages. Steel is an active guy who would love to have another dog in the house to play with. He loves to play chase and tug with his foster brother. He has an off switch, which is always a plus! Steel is a social guy who likes to meet new people and is very cuddly. He would be fine with kids, but no toddlers, please. He also has a fair bit of prey drive, so please no cats or small prey type pets like rabbits, rodents or ferrets left to run free in the house. He is crate trained and nearly housebroken. Steel is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and preventives, microchipped and heartworm negative.
