About Addie

Adoption Fee: $175
Rat Terrier
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

What a rarity in the world of rescue--a dog with a known history and a pretty darn good one at that! Meet Addie, whose sweet, friendly personality is a reflection of the loving upbringing she received with an active military family. She enjoyed trips to the dog park and was an enthusiastic jogging partner. Then her family was transferred overseas, and Addie went to live with Grandma in Florida, where she has been happily spoiled ever since. Sadly, Grandma is no longer physically able to care for Addie, so her family has asked New Rattitude to help her find a home where she will continue to be cherished and pampered forever. Now 8 years old, with that pretty prematurely gray face that a lot of black-and-white Ratties have, she has become a little plump from living with a less active older person these last few years. She would greatly benefit from getting more exercise and losing a few pounds from the 25 that she currently weighs. Addie is house-trained, trustworthy, and well-behaved indoors. She also walks well on a leash, enjoys meeting people, and gets along with most other dogs, although she has never lived with one. While she enjoys attention and snuggles, she doesn't appreciate rough handling, squeezing, or hugging, so any children need to be old enough to be respectful and gentle. Addie would love to find a home with moderately active adults who would regularly take her on neighborhood walks and other outings. A fenced yard where she can explore and keep out squirrels and other critters would be great too--Addie is a master vole hunter!
