About Bessa

Bessa has been a part of our family for 10 years. Sadly, due to a change in our circumstances, we can no longer keep her. I am looking for a good home for her with no young children and someone who is willing to care for her arthritis and any other health conditions that arise as she ages. Bessa is a sweet, loving and loyal girl who loves to have her chest scratched, but she can get very grumpy with little kids and puppies that like to paw and jump on her. She also likes to chase cats and small dogs, not to be mean, she just wants to play and she is a very dominant female, so she isn't fond of other female dogs although she does fine with males. Bessa has pretty good manners but can be very stubborn as she is half Rottweiler but she is an excellent watch dog. She is very protective of her people, home and vehicle. Although she can act tough, she has never bitten. She loves fetch, anything that looks like a ball and going to the river. Although she would prefer to be with you wherever you go, she does very well left alone in the house. Please, only serious folks who are willing to care for her in her last few years. Thank you!
