Meet Zuma, he is a 9 month old Bull Terrier/Basset Hound puppy. Zuma is packed with power and energy, but has as much sweetness one could handle. Zuma came to Denver as a newborn with his mom and siblings. Mom was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Mom was a Dachshund/Aussie and dad was a traveling salesman in Lubbock. Zuma was adopted out to a nice family only to find out he was way too rambunctious for their 2 year old child. Zuma is great with other med/large dogs, he needs room and another dog to rumble tumble with. He is very smart and has learned a lot. Zuma is housebroken, crate trained, and knows his basic commands (sit, down, roll over, shake and come). He is working on stay and leave it. Zuma likes to walk on a leash and walks help him get some of his energy out. Zuma is about 45 pounds and has no idea how big and how strong he is, thus making it difficult to play gently with small children. He does love kids and would be a great companion for kids over the age of 12. Zuma has had a hard time finding a home because he is all puppy and needs to have a backyard to run in and a buddy to play with. Zuma needs a special adopter who has the patience to finish training a willful puppy, who has time to train properly and has a large backyard. Zuma is not a cat dog but can get along with cats that will stand up to him. He is up to date on all his vaccinations, neutered and chipped. He is currently being fostered in Elizabeth, CO. Please complete an adoption application at https://form.jotform.us/72074690104148 if interested. WDCR requires an application, home and reference check and a meet and greet with current pets and/or children in the home.
