She sadly found herself in a shelter and OPH scooped her up to find her a loving forever home. She is beautiful -- 2 years old, 40 lbs (although she needs to put on a few pounds) and appears to be a Lab mix. She is spayed and up to date on shots and monthly preventatives. Some of Elska's fantastic qualities: *Perfect age - she is about 2 years old *Crate trained - She is crated at night and intermittently throughout the day. *Loving - She is super friendly and very dedicated to her caretaker. *Intelligent - Picking up leash training and basic commands *Good with the whole family - has Loves with children loves all of them! *Loves the outdoors *LOVES to Love - she can always use a hug or a pet, making every day special. *Excited about car rides - Hops right in the car and gets comfy. *Ready to enter your family - she is up to date on all shots and spayed *Excellent Pup for an active single, couple, or family *Loyal and Eager to Please - She bonds very quickly to her family and just wants to be near you *Dog friendly - Currently fostered with 2 other dogs. Does best in quiet, low traffic areas and is not recommended for an apartment or very urban setting. This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH has treated the dog for heartworms. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH's heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable.
