About Sidney

Her name is Sidney. She is 4 years old. She is spayed. Her health is excellent. She was completely vetted Friday October 20, 2017 including: wellness, intestinal parasite, heartworm exams; Oral Bordetella, Leptospirosis, Canine Influenza (H3N8 and H3N2), Rabies, DA2PP-3 inoculations. She is currently heartworm negative, but will need a follow up heartworm exam in 6 months due to her previous unknown home status. She is currently taking Sentinel heartworm and intestinal parasite preventative. As to behavior she is: gentle with small children and senior citizens (including wheelchair bound individuals), she is highly active but tries to consider the other animals around her with whom she is playing to avoid unintentional harm to them; she knows basic manners - sit, stay, with-me, kennel up; and she is receiving continued Patricia McConnell-type instruction. It is believed that Sidney was a hunting dog and, from her fear and willingness to please people behaviors, that she was shock-collar trained. She will be visiting an animal behaviorist-trainer the week after Thanksgiving to assess her behavior more completely. She is highly intelligent and well-bred for hunting rather than conformance (as is the practice of hunters-breeders in my surrounding areas; i.e., GA, LA, AL, FL). She needs to be retired as a pet. She sits on the couch with me at night and sleeps or looks around while I am watching TV, doing needle work, working on my computer, or the like.
