Daisy is a 40-lb., 1-year old Dobie mix who is spayed, chipped, and up to date on her shots. Daisy could be a great fit for someone who is looking for an energetic rescue Dobie mix that is still at the moldable, puppy age. Daisy seems like she would be a fantastic partner for Agility or Flyball. Daisy is intense! She has incredible ball drive, and she is very smart and biddable. She knows Down on verbal and drops as fast as lightening to ask for the tennis ball to be thrown. She is also fairly food-motivated, and will work for boiled chicken-but the ball is her ultimate prize. Our shelter adopted Daisy out to a single woman when Daisy was a 3-month old puppy. Daisy was returned to us after about 6 months in that home. Her owner returned Daisy because she decided she wanted to have children, and she thought that it wouldn't work out for her to keep such an active dog. She was concerned that Daisy showed some protective/guarding behavior toward strangers on walks. She did not do training with Daisy during the time she owned her-while we find this unfortunate, it also means that Daisy hasn't had the chance to blossom with the guidance and direction that training provides. We believe that Daisy would be an excellent addition to a family that is dog-savvy and excited about doing basic training to teach a dog how to live properly in a human household. Daisy could chase the ball all day! If you're looking for an energetic companion, Daisy is your girl. Please contact Pets in Need in Redwood City at [email protected] or (650) 367-1405 to meet Daisy.
