FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Toby is a quiet, mild-mannered 1 year old boy who was abandoned in a local park and rescued by a kind lady. Now he's on the hunt for a new home rather than mice to keep his tummy full; Fuzzy Pawz wants to find him the perfect family! This good looking boy is very affectionate and his favorite past time is sitting in his favorite human's lap. He loves to sleep on top of the tallest thing he can find! He is a VERY sweet and affectionate boy! He has slowly warmed up to the other foster cats in his foster home. He is not aggressive with other cats and so with a slow introduction he would likely work out in a home with other cat friendly cats, but would also be a great candidate for an only cat home. Oh we should also mention that Toby is FIV positive. Now don't freak out about this!! Toby is healthy and showing no symptoms of his FIV FIV is NOT a death sentence and FIV cats can live with other cats and not get them sick! Feline Immune-deficiency Virus (FIV) is a virus that affects a cat's immune system over a period of years. FIV is a cat-only disease and cannot be spread to humans or other non-felines. FIV is not easily passed between cats. It cannot be spread casually - like in litter boxes, water and food bowls, or when snuggling and playing. The virus can be spread through blood transfusions, badly infected gums, or serious, penetrating bite wounds. (Bite wounds of this kind are extremely rare, except in free-roaming, un-neutered tomcats.) Keep an FIV cat indoors and free from stress, feed them a high-quality diet and an FIV cat will live long, healthy and relatively normal lives with no symptoms at all.
