About Jed

Jed is 10+ years old and has spent his entire life outside chained to a dog house. Not only was he outside, but he was outside without straw for his box and often without enough food or water. After neighbors became concerned animal control began to check on Jed, conditions improved some for him, but not enough. He eventually was taken to the shelter. His coat was long and dirty and he wasn't sure how to react in his new surroundings. He has recently received a proper grooming and been to the vet. Each day, Jed gets a little more comfortable being indoors and enjoying the attention of shelter staff. In spite of what he has been through, Jed is friendly and sweet. Jed weighs between 25-30 pounds and is needing a soft bed and a good, warm place to live out his golden years. Due to his age he would do best in a home with no children. He has known neglect and living alone, enduring the scorching heat of summer and the bitter cold of winter, and it would be wonderful if for the time he has left he experiences love and compassion.
