About Red eared slider

I have had my turtle named squirt since he was small going on about 8 years now but I have recently had my son and he is soon going to be trying to walk/cruse and I am afarid he might try and grab onto the tank and it fall on him it is also very time consuming now that I have too clean and watch my son and work I no longer have the time. I just want to make sure he goes to a safe place since everyone I asked didn't want a turtle as a pet and he would come with his tank and heater as well as his food that we have for him . He is very healthy and a good turtle but I call him a he but still don't know the gender. So if you are interested in Squirt please feel free to contact me.
