About Maggie-PENDING!

Cavalier / Spitz
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

The Cavalier King Charles/Spaniel mix is a perfect combo for those with who are searching for an extremely loving and loyal family dog. Of utmost importance...they're known for their great temperaments and extremely snuggly ways. They're also famous for being wonderful family pets... and very gentle with family members and other canines...and since they require a certain amounts of exercise and absolutely love being with their people, if a walk is the order of the day - count them in! They love socializing with neighbors ...and then at day's end, nothing's better than crashing on the couch snuggling close to their favorite humans and canines. Maggie is an absolutely adorable and engaging girl who favors the coat and sweetness of the Cavalier while taking on the very engaging and cuddly qualities of the Spaniel breed. Maggie has the softest coat ever...and appears to be a lightly shedding pup. She will therefore require a commitment to periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep her coat healthy and cottony-soft. As she loses the old hair of her shelter days, Maggie's coat will grow in shining and less likely to shed. Maggie was injured prior to her arrival at the shelter. She came in with a deep injury on her stomach...she's been treated by a vet and on antibiotics for the duration of her shelter stay. While her wound is doing much better, it will still require a bit more time to be perfect. Maggie's sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated...she makes playmates everywhere she goes. Maggie is a social girl (once comfortable) and that means everyone she meets can be a friend. You know when a loved one approaches, Maggie's tail starts the greeting and it wiggles up through her entire body ending in a smile. And if your lap is available, up Maggie goes to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of her devotion. Maggie is such a wonderful being...we think she represents the best qualities of the Spaniel breeds. While a just bit fearful over her earlier life, Maggie is very open to new friends and lots of love in her life. At about 9 - 12 months old and a perfect lap-sitting size of 12 lbs, Maggie has become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please - the happier her family is with her behavior, the more she shines with her accomplishments. We would like to see Maggie in a home that includes her in family time and activities...she's a true family girl and would thrive in a family that truly loves her and considers her a very important family member. Maggie would be a wonderful companion for retirees or a family with older, dog-loving kids who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable young pup. Maggie doesn't require another dog to be happy...but does enjoy her canine relationships with kind and gentle dogs. Maggie won't be spayed when she arrives in Denver - while we request it, there just aren't enough vets to cover the needs of the vast number of homeless dogs in this part of New Mexico. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Maggie's spay and microchip after her arrival in Colorado if our Denver vet is used. Maggie will be arriving on transport in Denver on Saturday 11/18/17.
