About Aspen

Our adorably smart and spunky little man is on a mission to find a home of his very own! Aspen is a house and crate trained 4 month old, 23 lb Lab/Jack Russell (best guess!) mix whose Long Island foster mom says shows your typical JRT behavior. He's very friendly and loving, eager to please, and easily motived with tasty treats. He admits that he's still working on controlling himself when he gets overexcited and may sometimes mistake a human for a mouthing toy. Due to his mouthiness, we recommend a home with dog savvy kids 10+. He walks very well on leash, loves being outside, and already knows many basic commands, including sit, come, down, go to your bed, and sit pretty (Impressive, huh?) Aspen is a young and active boy who LOVES to play, especially with other dogs. He would do well in a home with another friendly pup as long as his buddy is active and doesn't mind Aspen's puppy antics. When he's corrected, he can get a bit growly (although his foster mom feels he is vocalizing, as opposed to being mean.) But please don't mistake this little guy as being one big ball of crazy energy....his foster mom says that for the majority of the day, he's very calm and mellow, so a normal level of puppy activity will tire him right out. Aspen's ideal home would be with a strong, dog savvy, patient owner who will continue with his training. He is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and his adoption will be finalized upon neuter.
