About Abby

PLEASE PASS ON TO ALL DOG LOVERS YOU KNOW! This sweet girl is a 6 yr old, spayed German Shepherd Shar-Pei mix named Abby. She is a very special girl. Super sweet and loving but also loves to play rough and wrestle in the floor. Her single male owner is in the military and will be going cross country and not sure when he will return. The immediate family is unable to take her because of an unfortunate situation where a family member needs 24/7 care. She has been in a foster home for the past 4 months and has been great in every way, as well as playing with young children,however has recently taken over the role as protector of the wife/mother and when the two year old approaches her with the dog around her she has given a warning growl a few times. She is very Alpha but plays fine at the dog park off leash . On leash she is having some aggression issues because she is used to having land to roam and run. She knows all basic commands, is very polite and very trainable. She does not bother anything in the house when left for many hours. She loves stuffed toys. She is up-to-date on all vaccinations. would thrive best with a male owner or male and female with a firm female. Kids are fine but, due to Foster's experience maybe not small children, however owners family has many small children and has never been an issue. Small dogs are fine in the home if they are already there vs. joining the family later. Cats in the past have been ok but not tested recently. No issues with anyone coming in the house, and excited about company, but just has a protective bark at the door. Owner would prefer to avoid further foster homes and find a forever home because it is hard on the dog to move homes multiple times. Abby is a very unique dog and talks with her eyes.
