About Gia

This is the life of Gia. She is 16mos old. I got her from a breeder for Arkansas in 09/16.. She is absolutely a beautiful rat terrier. Her markings are perfect ,she has long legs, tri color with one ear up and one down She is extremely hyper and because of this she doesn't have a good attention span..The reason why I got her was because I had the most wonderful rat terrier for 12 yrs. She had the best disposition , was relaxed and gentle and loved everyone.. unfortunately she passed away last July.. Needless to say I was devastated. Every one told me to get another one. So 3 mos later I decided to get one hoping it would help me get over Kylee. So when I got Gia I just thought she would have the same temperament.. I soon found out she wa a ball of energy. When she was about 3mos old I had her on the bed with me like I did with Kylee. She was so hyper that she fell of the bed. And beds are very high now. She ended up fractureing her growth plate in her leg. She had surgery right away. It took her time to heal, but it did not slow her down. Unfortunately, she needed attention all the time she is like a spoiled child If her ball is out of reach she will bark and cry until she gets it. The one thing that will keep her content is the deer antlers. I think she is like this because, of the trauma of falling and another incident when she was outside on her leash a large dog that wasn't leashed ran at her and this terrified her. I have tried everything to to deal with her behavior. She has seen a Behaviourest and on medication to calm her down. I live in a subdivision and I have a neighbor right next door . There are times that she will bark all night .its so sad because it has gotten to the point that I can no longer have her. This has devastated me.. I cannot find anyone that will take her because she is aggressive. It breaks my heart because she is so sweet and just need someone with patientence and time to get her through this. Right now I am desperate because if I can't rehome her I will have to take her to the humane society and have her put down. I think the best chance she has is. if with someone who has a lot of land where she can run andplay . This is my last resort to find her someone who cares enough to take her.
