Odin was supposed to be a family pet for the kids. But he ended up stuck in the back yard because he growled when he got scared. His growling reminds me a lot of how my Lab 'talks' to me. Some dogs are just vocal. Odie communicates with his facial expressions and with his voice. He's a very smart boy. He's never bit anyone or anything but he sat in that yard for nearly 2 years before his humans had to move and dropped him off at a kill shelter. Because he growls when he's scared, adopters never looked twice at him. Odie really is a love bug. He just never had anyone to teach him how be receptive. We've got him crate trained and he walks amazingly well on a leash. He loves to play with the younger dogs and won't chase the cat (as long as you're watching him). It's been a joy to watch him learn to be loved. But Odin really deserves a loving home. He's such a smart boy and so eager to please that we know he'll be relatively easy to train. If you'd like to rid your yard of squirrels, Odie is your guy! Please message for an application and offer him Happily Ever After. He promises to be loyal to you forever!
