About Josie

Josie is a 4 year old female English Setter, who was surrendered by her previous owner (along with her Cocker Spaniel housemate, Jamie) to Florida Coastal Cocker Rescue. The girls are not closely bonded and doing well in separate foster homes, therefore, they do not need to be adopted together. Josie is the total package�'�|beauty and brains! Couch potatoes need not apply, this girl is looking for an active person/household where she can thrive. She is very people oriented and bonds closely with her caretakers. Josie is also social with other dogs, though she has high prey drive and is best suited for a home without cats or small animals. She hasn't shown much interest in toys, but once healed from her spay, we will introduce her to swimming and other activities. True to her breed, Josie is active and needs an owner committed to daily exercise and enrichment. Josie is crate trained and housebroken, however, that is the extent of her training. We are working to expand her knowledge of basic commands and teach her to settle in the house. She has jumped a 4ft chain link fence to greet other dogs, though she has not challenged the 6ft privacy fence in her current foster home. Josie has unlimited potential with proper guidance, but consistency is key. A home with older children, if any, would be ideal due to her energy and training needs.
