About Casey

Greyhound
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Casey is sweet, quiet and insecure. He is young (was two in July) and didn't run any professional races. He is healthy and strong and has huge eyes that just plead with you to love him. When he first arrived, he was afraid of noises, and rain and thunder. When he is afraid, he doesn't bark or react and is not at all protective. He just tries with all his might to run away and he is very good at that. We were told by Casey's kennel handlers that he would calm down and be less afraid. We had Casey for a few weeks and he got much better. Jerry even got a kiss from him! Investing time in this shy-guy will yield amazing dividends. He's big, sturdy guy and the markings on his face make him always look worried. But he learns routine and likes a nice ear rub once in a while. There's a sweet, sweet boy inside that blanket of insecurity. So he was adopted out but he seemed to regress in his new home and his mom reluctantly returned him. She felt her home was not right for him. He needs more activity and probably another greyhound in the home. And the up-side to his insecurity is that he is cat tolerant and will probably be able to live with cats and small dogs without a problem. Casey is handsome in his own big dog way. He will require an understanding and reasonably quiet family with a VERY well fenced yard and a lot of patience. But I predict that this guy will at some point, relax and accept this family and his home. And I will go out on a limb, based on previous dogs we've seen come through here, that he will be a wonderful, loving and totally devoted dog. It will take time but it will be worth it. Stability is the key for him. Can you provide that?? He needs a lot of love.
