Charlie is a handsome, snuggly sweet, gentle and loving, two-year-old, 57-pound, male, chocolate and vanilla Catahoula/Pit Bull Terrier-mix looking for a loving guardian. He has warm brown eyes and a goofy, adorable grin. Charlie is full of kisses and tails wags for all the people he meets. He is living in a foster home with dogs, cats, and an eight-year-old child and he gets along with everyone beautifully. He loves going for walks and is great in the car. He really is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met. He doesn't know commands, but he is loving and intuitive. He's very special. Poor Charlie was an owner-give-up to Richland County Animal Control in Olney, Illinois. He was not neutered, and had heartworm, fleas, whipworm, tapeworms and roundworms. Charlie is now neutered, treated for worms, fleas and heartworm. Since he just underwent heartworm treatment, he's on a no exercise (beyond walking to relieve himself) regimen for one month. The only follow up necessary is another heartworm test in March of 2018. He is otherwise a young healthy dog who is micro-chipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. To meet and possibly adopt him, please contact [email protected] for an adoption application. His adoption fee of $250 benefits the Friends of Petraits Rescue. His medical care and heartworm treatment will be covered by the rescue, but all donations are accepted to help him and all the other pets we rescue and care for. He is being fostered in Chicago.
